Are you looking for a place where you can connect with others and develop significant relationships? Would you like to grow deeper in your relationship with God? Join a Community Group!
God never intended for us to live out the Christian life alone. He created us as relational beings and desires for us to invest in each others’ lives no matter where we are in our faith journey. Becoming involved in a Community Group is an ideal way for you to grow in your intimacy with God as you make meaningful connections with others.
What is a Community Group?
A Community Group consists of three to 10 people, generally, who meet regularly for the purpose of encouraging each other and growing in their relationship with Christ. This is accomplished through time spent praying, learning, supporting, serving and having fun together.
Where And When Do They Meet?
We have groups that meet in homes throughout the area, at church, in coffee shops and many other places. They meet at different times and on different days of the week. Some meet every week, others twice a month. Some begin in the Fall, others in the Winter and Spring. We have a few groups that begin in the Summer.
What if I’m Already Involved in a Small Group?
It is very easy, especially on the Peninsula, to become over-extended in our schedules. Therefore, we encourage you to be involved in only one group, but if you have the time and the desire you are welcome to join more than one.
What if I Have Childcare Needs?
It’s up to the Group itself to decide whether or not they will provide childcare. If childcare is not provided, you may call the church office and request suggestions or resources for your childcare needs.
How do I Get Involved?
Getting involved in a Community Group is simple! There are a number of groups to choose from and many groups are diverse in their focus, so we are confident that you will be able to find one that is a fit for you. After reading the descriptions of each group in this brochure, e-mail or call the contact person listed for the group you are interested in. They will then give you the most current details of how you can plug in.
May I Lead My Own Group?
There is a process for becoming a Community Group Leader. As a ministry, we are careful to prepare and develop each Community Group Leader, Co-leader, Coach (someone who encourages, troubleshoots problems and prays for the Leader/Co-leader) and Host. If you would like more information about becoming a part of the Community Group Leadership Team contact Rob Hall at rhall@cpcfc.org.
