A warm, welcoming group of singles and marrieds, aged 21—31, who love being together as a group and being a part of Central Peninsula Church. If you’re in your twenties, we’d love to have you join our growing group.

Thursdays*
7pm - 9pm
CPC Multipurpose Room

*On the 1st Thursday of each month we meet in homes with our community groups instead of meeting on the CPC campus.

We meet as both a large group--for a chance to kick back with friends and interact with teaching from Justin Buzzard, our Twenties Pastor, and in smaller community groups--to share life together, study the Bible, and pray together.

Thursday Night Schedule

7 Welcome & Hangout
7:15 Teaching/Worship/Announcements
8 Community Groups
9 The End/Hangout

In addition to our Thursday night gatherings we love being together with our whole church family on Sunday mornings, we do life together throughout the week, and throughout the year we take part in a variety of special events and activities, including a summer retreat.

All you need to do is show up this next Thursday night at 7pm (but, don't show up the 1st Thursday of the month when we meet in homes rather than on the CPC campus). We’re a friendly group and new faces show up most every week, so you’ll feel welcome and comfortable. To get in the loop on what all we have going on, you’ll want to get added to our email list: Add Me to the twenties@cpc Email List.

  • Gospel
The gospel is the good news that we can have a relationship with God and bring renewal to the world through the work, record, and performance of Jesus, rather than through our own performance. The gospel is the opposite of religion, which teaches: “I obey, therefore I’m accepted.” The gospel teaches: “I’m accepted through Jesus, therefore I obey,” driving all of who we are and what we do as Christians. The gospel is how we both get in and grow in the Christian life. (Luke 15; Rom. 1:16; Phil. 1:27)

  • Application
Biblical truth is meant not merely to be known, but to be applied. The gospel changes us from the inside out, transforming our hearts and then our behavior, as we apply it to our lives. In our study, teaching, and preaching of God’s word, application of the word is central. (Gal. 2:14; Col. 1:28; James 1:22)

  • Humility
Jesus shrinks our pride and transforms us into humble people, showing us that everybody stands on equal ground at the foot of the cross. It’s only grace that has made us who we are. This grace gives us a freeing humility that welcomes accountability and correction, celebrates the successes of others, serves all types of people, and brings glory to God. (1Cor. 4:7; Phil. 2:3-11)

  • Community
The Christian life is to be lived in community. It cannot be lived in isolation. Through the gospel we find a new community, a new family, of deep friendship with brothers and sisters in Christ who come from all walks of life. We glorify God, grow in God, and witness to the world only as we open up our lives to participate in community that’s built upon the gospel. (Jn. 13:34-35; Heb. 10:24-25)

  • City
The San Francisco Peninsula is a great city. Much culture, life, and innovation thrives here. Yet, so does a great deal of poverty, injustice, and idolatry. In our homes, neighborhoods, and workplace, we aim to help build a better city. We don’t simply take from our beautiful, yet broken, city, we seek to serve our city. (Jer. 29:4-7; Matt. 5:14-16; Phil. 2:14-16)

  • Church
The local church stands at the center of God’s design to redeem the world. Every Christian is called to be involved in a church (not a twenties ministry), a body of people of all ages who travel through life together and meet regularly to worship God, hear the gospel preached, practice the sacraments of baptism and communion, and submit to the leadership of elders. We love our church—being a part of it and serving it. (Eph. 3:7-12; Heb. 13:17)
